“From Planet Dub”is an album that touches a nice variety of different genres of music and does it without losing its identity along the way. The freshman album by musician / producer Junkie Jay combines elements or Dub, Hip-Hip Funk and even Folk music. Jay has the ability to walk different ground on this album because he has full creative control, something he didn’t have when working in his last band The Downtown Junkies. Luckily for Jay this will allow future releases the ability to combine other elements of music that have not been heard on this release. This is good news for him because no one can yet pigeon-hole him to one particular sound yet. Features on the album include Metafisx, John Steady, The Rebel Agnostic, Diluted Thought, and Flyin Bryan. Definitely worth checking out.
